I'm happy to announce that Raoul and I now have permanent 24-7 internet! We got an HSDPA modem from Vodacom, and we're using that to connect to the net. It's brilliant- we have speeds even higher than Raoul has at work! (People outside South Africa, don't get too excited- it's still not nearly the speeds you can get in the States or elsewhere, and there's still a monthly bandwidth cap.) It's going to be great to be able to get online any time we need to! Read more about Internet!...

Hello there! Just a quick note to anyone who has, or may one day send us a package-

Raoul got the post from our old landlord yesterday and found that we had gotten a notice to pick up a parcel from the post office, but as it was a couple months old, the post office no longer has the parcel- it's either been returned to the sender, or sent to the RLO (we're not sure what that stands for either). We're going to try to find out where the parcel is and retrieve it, but we're not sure what will happen. Read more about Packages, parcels, boxes..whatever you want to call them...

Well, I just thought I'd post a general update on what's been happening the last while, and where we're at and where we're going (or hoping to). Read more about General Status Update...

Well, Raoul and I have now been married for over 6 months, as of the 29th of March! We didn't do anything particularly special on the day because finances are tight for the month, but we're going to have a nice dinner at a very nice italian restaurant at the end of this month to celebrate. The other night Hannah and I were sitting at our computers in the living room, and I glanced at the kitchen for some or other odd reason. As I stared through the kitchen doorway into nothing, movement caught my eye.

Is that a mouse? I got up and took a closer look. Sure enough, a mouse had climbed up the drain pipe for the non-existent tumble dryer, and was sniffing around and looking at what he had found at the other end of the tunnel. Read more about A furry visitor...

Well, the cats are finally getting along with each other. Merlo, of course, was never the problem, being the new addition and a kitten at that. Keena, on the other hand, needed to adapt to having another cat in the house. Read more about Family Matters...

A little over two weeks ago, we had a new addition to the Snyman family. She's cute,  curious,  and cuddly, and she's very attached to her mum (me). She's also a furry, four-legged feline (and for anyone who is thinking about getting smart, I've seen felines with no hair, and also felines with less than four legs :-P). Yep, that's right, we got a kitten! She's about 7 weeks old now, and her name is Merlo. Read more about The New Addition to the Snyman Family...

Well, we've finally finished moving. On Wednesday I handed over the keys to the old place, so we're totally out of there.

Of course, our new house is a mess, since we just moved everything, and didn't take (or have) time to sort through everything. I'm hoping that we can remedy that.

Our new address is Unit 91, Fisherman's Village, Capricorn Beach, 7945. We don't have a telephone, and probably won't get one, since it seems to be an unnecessary expense most of the time. Hannah and I of course have our cellphones. Read more about We've moved!...

Well, we've started moving. Last night we took two loads of things across to the new place. We're moving all the non-essential stuff first, then we're moving the kitchen stuff, and then finally, on Saturday, we're gonna move the beds, the couch, the washing machine and the fridge. That's right! After months of house hunting, we've finally found THE place. We thought we found a place just before Christmas, but when we went to sign the papers, we were shocked by all of the superfluous fees (as Raoul mentioned in his last blog entry), so we decided to keep looking.
