Well, Hannah's folks arrived last night. The plane was due to land at 20:40, but only landed at 20:56. Then they had to get luggage, and that was another 15 or so minutes. So eventually we got out of the airport at about 21:45. Then the dads went off looking for the car hire place, and that took goodness knows how long. All I know is that after leading them to their hotel and checking them in, it was well after 22:00 when we made our way home. Read more about Arrival of the (future) parents-in-law...

Well, I managed to get hold of home affairs yesterday and they said that the person in charge of the home affairs office wanted to interview us, most especially Hannah. So I asked the chap on the phone when we could come in for an interview, and he said anytime. So we decided to go in this morning. Read more about Please pray for us...

I got some rather bothersome news regarding my wedding dress this past week. Irene had to send off to the states for the steel boning needed to make my dress, and when it finally got here, it turns out they sent her the wrong sized tips for the boning, so she won't be able to use it for my dress, and she'll have to use the plastic boning instead! Fortunately they will send her the right ones and not charge her for it, but it won't get here in time for her to use it for my dress. I'm sure it will all work out fine, but it is frustrating, especially for Irene. Read more about Eureka!...

Indeed, it has been a while since either of us has posted. I've been prodding Hannah to write up our experience of pre-marital counselling, but she doesn't seem to get the hint. But, I shall persist.

In the mean time, we've had our first session of "The Marriage Course" (wonderfully original names some of these courses think up for themselves). That was fairly interesting, because it was an introductory and a assessment session. Read more about Long time no smell...

Well, I'm hoping that this new week is going to be a little quieter than last week. Work-wise it wasn't a good week. With running around after the different items for Hannah's Relative Permit, I had to either go into work early, or go in late and work late. Of course at the same time I was working part time on a project for a friend, and so I was having late nights, or rather, early mornings, and that didn't help my productivity at all. Yesterday I scooted off to work at 6 in the morning so that I could rush home early and take Hannah to the doctor for a medical checkup. One of the things that she needs to get her spousal visa is a doctor's certificate that says she's healthy. The interesting part of that is that the receptionist got our booking wrong, after she wrote it down when I made the booking. I recounted what happened, and she had to concede defeat and we had to wait a bit for the doctor to finish up with the people who had erroneously been given our slot.

Just to elaborate a little on Raoul's post, we did indeed get the paperwork to get a spousal visa. Now, reading his post, you might ask yourselves the question, "How can they get a spousal visa when they aren't spouses yet?" GOOD QUESTION!

Well, we've picked up on our wedding plans again. We've started looking for a place for our reception, and Hannah has found some interesting things wedding dress wise (but I'll let her talk about that herself, I know she'd love to). Read more about Wedding plans underway...
