At Hannah's request, her mom came out to South Africa for a few weeks to help us out. We've been really grateful that she's here, she's been such a great help. I know that with me back at work, Hannah has needed an extra set of hands to help her out.

Of course, one of the many advantages of coming to visit is that Nana gets to hold him!

I've spread the news on Facebook, IRC, IM and Microblogs, so let me blog about it here.

Yep, Hannah and I are now the proud parents of a beautiful big boy named Zachary. He was born this afternoon at 12:16 via caesarean section, and weighed 3.57 kilograms. Mom is tired, but fine (I've never seen her happier in her entire life), Zak is the most awesome baby ever, and dad is zonked! Read more about It's a Boy!...

Unfortunately due to the rainy winter weather here in Cape Town, and due to lots of visiting/visitors, I haven't had as much chance to work on the cot as I would have liked to. Fortunately this past Sunday we weren't out galavanting, and it was nice and sunny, so I was able to sand down the second cot end board. Read more about Some more progress on the cot...

So over the last 8 months since we found out that Hannah is pregnant, we've been slowly but surely preparing for the arrival of the new addition to the family. One of the things we've recently done is to buy a second-hand cot. Of course this means that we might not be able to get a cot in the colour we want, and sure enough, this one was a dirty pink colour. Yuck.

So, Operation Cot Repaint was started.

First, we needed some supplies:

We got a new camera! Yay! Here's a juicy photo:

It's rather difficult taking a photo of your camera with that camera, so I unfortunately had to settle for a photo of the box! Read more about A new camera!...

As I blogged earlier, we were burgled in February, and Hannah's laptop, and our R9000 digital camera were stolen. Since then, I've been corresponding with the insurance assessor, trying to get insurance to agree to pay out for the two items that were stolen. Read more about Your honour, I present exhibit A...

Hannah and I came across a blog called "Stuff Christians Like" on a friend's blog roll (list of blogs a person reads), and after reading the first couple of posts, we were hooked.

One post in particular caught my eye: The Sound Guy Neck Crane

As a person who does sound at my church from time to time, you won't believe how often I experience this! I'm glad to see it doesn't only happen in my church! Read more about The Sound Guy Neck Crane...

If you didn't catch on by the title, we were burgled last night. Hannah and I and the cats were not harmed in any way, but the burglars did make off with a few items.

Somewhere between midnight, when I went to bed, and 7am this morning, burglars gained access to our house via a window above the sliding door in our livingroom. They escaped by hopping over into the neighbour's yard, and then into the neighbours beyond them, before skirting round the outside of the far neighbour's house and back into the complex we live in. A friend of mine is in college, studying graphic design, and as part of his course his class has their own computer room. Now one day, he and two other class mates were upstairs in their computer lab, when someone from the computer lab downstairs started printing out her CV (aka resumé). Unbeknownst to her, she'd selected the wrong printer, and thus her CVs were being printed in their lab upstairs. Read more about The Good Samaritan Prank...
