Last night, Merlo went missing. I realised she was gone sometime around 8-8:30, and I hadn't seen her since around 7:00. Raoul and I searched the entire house over several times, and called and called outside. She didn't come, not even at the sound of food in her bowl (and she hadn't even finished her supper, so she had to have been hungry). Merlo never really wanders from the house much. The longest she's been away before has been maybe half an hour or so, and she usually comes soon after she's called.

I've never been as much of a cat person as I am a dog person. I've never had anything against cats, but because we never had one growing up, I was never extremely fond of them either. Then I came here, and Raoul had Keena, so I had my first real experience of having a cat.

YAY! Raoul got some videos of Merlo and Keena up on YouTube! Now you can see first-hand how cute our cats are.

That's right, I've got a job! I'm the content manager and an administrator of the City Partnership website: http://citypartnership.org.za/

The City Partnership is a ministry to business people. Raoul put together their site for them, and I was offered the job of uploading content every week. I'm being paid a small retainer each month- nothing huge, but it's something, and it's tax-free! Read more about Hannah's got a job!...

By popular demand, I've added a few pictures. There are a few of Merlo, as well as some long-awaited honeymoon photos. With our better connection, I'll try to upload photos a bit more frequently. Enjoy!

I'm happy to announce that Raoul and I now have permanent 24-7 internet! We got an HSDPA modem from Vodacom, and we're using that to connect to the net. It's brilliant- we have speeds even higher than Raoul has at work! (People outside South Africa, don't get too excited- it's still not nearly the speeds you can get in the States or elsewhere, and there's still a monthly bandwidth cap.) It's going to be great to be able to get online any time we need to! Read more about Internet!...

Hello there! Just a quick note to anyone who has, or may one day send us a package-

Raoul got the post from our old landlord yesterday and found that we had gotten a notice to pick up a parcel from the post office, but as it was a couple months old, the post office no longer has the parcel- it's either been returned to the sender, or sent to the RLO (we're not sure what that stands for either). We're going to try to find out where the parcel is and retrieve it, but we're not sure what will happen. Read more about Packages, parcels, boxes..whatever you want to call them...

Well, Raoul and I have now been married for over 6 months, as of the 29th of March! We didn't do anything particularly special on the day because finances are tight for the month, but we're going to have a nice dinner at a very nice italian restaurant at the end of this month to celebrate. A little over two weeks ago, we had a new addition to the Snyman family. She's cute,  curious,  and cuddly, and she's very attached to her mum (me). She's also a furry, four-legged feline (and for anyone who is thinking about getting smart, I've seen felines with no hair, and also felines with less than four legs :-P). Yep, that's right, we got a kitten! She's about 7 weeks old now, and her name is Merlo. Read more about The New Addition to the Snyman Family...

That's right! After months of house hunting, we've finally found THE place. We thought we found a place just before Christmas, but when we went to sign the papers, we were shocked by all of the superfluous fees (as Raoul mentioned in his last blog entry), so we decided to keep looking.
