31 Days of Parenting Littles: Work

How much work is being a parent? If your answer was, "An infinite amount" you're probably right. The thing about parenting work is that it's never done. Raoul just went "back to work" today, and I'm sure it seems like a bit of a holiday for him to get out of the house and away from THIS work. One of the things that irritated him about the work here at home is that you do the same things. Over. And over. And over. You wash the same dishes. You change yet another dirty nappy. You have the same discipline issues, you clean up what seems like the same exact mess that you just cleaned up, you wash the same clothes....it can get a little monotonous. Parenting is a joy, absolutely, and some moments are just so beautiful that you almost can't believe it. Everyone says that it's not work when you're doing what you love. But sometimes parenting and taking care of the household really does feel like WORK, even though you love your home and your family more than anything in the world. But you know what? That pretty little saying about it not being work if you're doing what you love? It's not Biblical. God says that it is work! So don't feel bad if you feel like it sometimes!
